  1. Massimo BRICOCOLI
    He holds a MSc in Architecture and a PhD in Urban and Regional Planning at IUAV Venice. In 2005 was appointed assistant Professor at the Department of Architecture and Planning at Politecnico di Milano and in 2015 full professor at University of Luxembourg · Integrative Research Unit: Social and Individual Development (INSIDE). In 2009 he was awarded a Research Fellowship by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and was visiting research fellow at the HafenCity Universität Hamburg. His research work focuses on public action, urban planning and policies, housing and neighborhood development, health and safety policies and develops in research projects at the national and international level.
  2. Ruth FINCHER
    She is Redmond Barry Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the University of Melbourne. She is a Board member of the International Social Science Council and a past Vice President of the International Geographical Union. An urban geographer with research and teaching interests in the urban outcomes of immigration and multiculturalism, diversity and difference in cities, gender issues, inequality and locational disadvantage.
  3. Thomas MALOUTAS
    He’s Professor of Social Geography at the Department of Geography, Harokopio University since 2009. He has directed the Institute of Urban and Rural Sociology at the National Centre for Social Research (EKKE) in Athens (2001-2012) and was Professor at the Department of Planning, University of Thessaly (1991-2009). Invited professor at the Institut d’Études Politiques in Paris in 2006 and 2014 and invited speaker at several universities in Europe, North America and East Asia. He has directed and participated in many national and international research projects funded by several Greek ministries, the DG Research and the French CNRS. He is author of numerous articles and books on segregation and housing, and on the changing social structures of Greek cities.   4. Barbara HENRY
    Barbara Henry (Lucca, 1959) is full professor of political philosophy at the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies (SSSUP), Pisa/Italy. She did research work at the University of Bochum, Saarland, Erlangen-Nürnberg, and lectured at the University of Frankfurt am Main. The main issues of her inquires are: German classical philosophy, neokantianism, political judgement and hermeneutics, modern political myths and totalitarianism, political and cultural identity, tolerance and interculturality, political and cultural globalisation, gender issues, qualitative empirical research. She published books and articles on E. Cassirer, H. Arendt, M. Heidegger, E. Jünger. She translated the Eduard Gans’ Zusaetze to Hegels’ Philosophy of Right. She has been the Director of the International Master of Arts in Human Rights and ‘Conflict Management’. She has been in charge of the Confucio Institute in Pisa till 2010; she has been the Coordinator of the Phd Course in Politics, Human Rights, Sustainability.
  5. Korbinian RUEGER
    He is the Editor in Chief of the Project for Democratic Union (PDU), a think tank that makes the case for a full political union of the Eurozone. He studied economics and philosophy in Germany, Canada and Britain, graduating from the London School of Economics in 2015. His main research is in moral and political philosophy. For the PDU he regularly writes on the future of European federalism and is also responsible for expanding the organisations’ activities across Europe. He lives in Munich and London.
  6. Benjamin ZEEB
    He is the Director of the Project for Democratic Union (PDU), a think tank that makes the case for a full political union of the Eurozone. In 2009, he witnessed the early stages of the ongoing European crisis as a student of history and political sciences in Madrid, which prompted him to co-found the PDU. He graduated in Munich in 2012. Benjamin is married and lives in Munich with his wife and daughter, where he also works as the CEO of a media venture. Together with Brendan Simms, he is the co-author of Europa am Abgrund (2016).

    He is executive at the Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri; he is responsible for the implementation, within the national territory, of reforms of local autonomies. He is member of the Italian social science council and teaches in the Roma Tre University

    Professor of Dynamic Psychology at the University of Rome, Sapienza. His research is aimed at understanding how dynamic psychology can understand and respond to social problems, with an emphasis on psychodynamic related variables.

    Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Palermo, group analyst, he worked to understand the psychosocial dynamics connected to the mafia phenomenon in Southern Italy.
  16. Renzo CARLI
    Professor of Clinical Psychology at the Facoltà di Psicologia, of the University La Sapienza of Rome. In the course of his research he has developed an original construct for the definition of social relationship, starting from the characteristics of the way of being unconscious of the mind. Based on this construct it has proposed an innovative theory of technique for the psychological intervention aimed at both the individual, and the social context.

  20. Carlos THIEBAUT
    PhD in Philosophy, Universidad Complutense de Madrid (1977) with a dissertation on young Lukacs. He has been Professor at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) and the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM). Member of the Institute of Philosophy of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). He was appointed Visiting Professor at the Universidad de Frankfurt y Northwestern University and has lectured in academic institutions in Mexico and Peru. In 1990 he was a finalist in the prestigious Spanish “Premio Nacional de Ensayo” (National Essay Award) for his book “History of naming”. The last decade he has focused on contemporary experiences on pain and trauma through its social and conceptual dimension. He has occasionally contributed to the newspaper El País.

He has been invited lecturer in Duke University, New School for Social Research (New York), University College London, as well as in diverse Universities in Japan, Italy, Germany, Australia, Argentina and México. Since 1995 he published books and numerous works on the history of American culture, especially on the delusions of the liberal imagination, the relation between religion politics, ethics and war, and the conflict between phycology and psychoanalysis. He also translated into Spanish Fredric Jameson’s Postmodernism and Terry Eagleton’s The Idea of Culture. He also wrote on Eagleton “The illusion of Aesthetics” (prologue to the Spanish version of Eagleton’s The Ideology of the Aesthetics) and “Cultural Supplements: A Fable on the Fall of the Left”. In 2005 he organized Memories of the Future, a workshop on Science Fiction and politics, and he is now directing in Madrid both a group on Post-humanism and a permanent seminar on the history of psychology. He has also explored the relation between comedy and tragedy (as in his recent preface to Simon Crithley’s Tragedy and Modernity), laugh and absurdity, slapsticks and cartoons, and he is finishing a book titled Wittgenstein and His Relation to the Joke. He was teaching humanities for musicians in the Barenboim-Said Foundation at Sevilla, and now he is teaching soundscape theory for students of electroacoustic music in Madrid. Next autumn he will publish “Delirious Gardens”, an introductory study into the history of gardens and heterotopia. Recently he lectured in Japan on Science-Fiction and Utopia, revisting the works of Raymond Williams and Fredric Jameson.

  23. Barbara CARFAGNA
    Television journalist with TV7 and Speciale TG1 and evening newsreader for TG1. Contributes to the journal and online magazine “Formiche”, the weekly “Panorama” and the daily newspaper “Il Foglio” on matters around ICT, ethical philosophy and Internet governance. Graduated with a first-class degree in Literature from “La Sapienza” University in Rome. She is the daughter of classical guitarist Carlo Carfagna and studied the violin for ten years at Rome’s “S. Cecilia” Conservatory.
    She originated, produces and presents the two-minute Saturday-morning news bulletin “Infosfera” for the Italian TV channel Raiuno and the online channel Raiweb, discussing philosophical and economic issues and aspects of digitisation in relation to Italy’s cultural heritage.
    In 1995 she began working as a journalist for Italy’s public broadcaster RAI, covering books and publishing for the arts programme L’Altra Edicola on Rai 2. She consolidated her TV skills with Rai 3, working on Format with Giovanni Minoli and for his infotainment programme Mixer. In 1998 she began reporting for TG1 Prima. Under Albino Longhi she moved to TV7 and Speciale TG1, producing reports on key news events in Italy as well as special programmes in Ethiopia and Niger with features on the spread of fundamentalist Islam, in Nigeria where she did an exclusive interview with Safya, the woman condemned for adultery to stoning, in South Africa and Cambodia, where she made historic documentary films and programmes on child trafficking, and in Germany, where she reported on the neo-Nazi scene in the former GDR. For Rai Educational she filmed reports on the French colonies in Africa. She worked for Monica Maggioni in the breakfast-time chat show Unomattina, in the chat show Porta a Porta, and in the programme about missing persons presented by Federica Sciarelli, Chi l’ha visto. In 2004 Clemente Mimun asked her to join the desk for the evening news programme TG1, which she finally did in 2006, reporting on crime and accident stories and from the courts, and researching some of Italy’s unresolved cases. Gianni Riotta made her a newsreader for TG1 and entrusted her with the series Italia italie on migration issues.
    She works for the programmes Tv7 and Speciale TG1, in particular publicising matters of science, philosophy and the digital economy.
  24. Antonio A. MARTINO
    He is professor emeritus at the University of Salvador (Argentina), hired at the University of Lanus, Member of the Academy of Law and Social Sciences of Córdoba Associate member of the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Cognate Learning of the University of Greenwich, Member of the “European Association of Legislation”, Oxford. Member of the Institute of Constitutional Law at the Academy of Law and Social Sciences of Buenos Aires, Law Declared by 4286 Outstanding Personality of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires in the field of Law Sciences.
    It deals with artificial intelligence applied to law and new technologies in Political Science. He was professor of philosophy of law at the University of Buenos Aires and the Haute Normandie (France). For 31 years (1976/2007) was a professor of political science at the homonymous faculty of the University of Pisa.
    For 10 years (1983/1993) Led the Istituto di Documentazione Giuridica Italian National Research Council. He was director of the Argentine Legal Digest Manual. He is a member of the Scientific Council of various magazines in Europe and America, author of 43 books and 681 articles and essays.
  25. Heather CAMPBELL
    She’s currently Head of Department and Leader of the Planning Theory and Practice Research Cluster at the University of Sheffield. Professor Campbell has been a Visiting Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley and the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. Heather Campbell’s research focuses on public policy-making and her teaching seeks to examine questions of ethical values and knowledge in planning, justice and judgement and philosophy, theory and ethics in property. Heather Campbell is a founding co-editor of the international journal Planning Theory & Practice.
  26. Sven Hroar KLEMPE
    He is associate Professor in Psychology at the Department of Psychology, NTNU, Trondheim. His background includes full Professor in Musicology, Assoc. Prof. in Media Studies, teacher and journalist. His research is cross-disciplinary, with an emphasis on the history of psychology, culture and psychology, theory of science, communication and music psychology. In addition to having been involved in several research projects, he has conducted the establishment of a masters program in community psychology in Palestine.     He is a psychologist who has worked in the field of action research for several decades. In the last fifteen years he has been focused on developing software tools for automated text analysis and text mining which are used by hundreds of researchers across many fields.
  29. A. Claudio BOSIO
    A. Claudio Bosio is full professor of “Psychology of Marketing and Consumption” and “Psycho-Social Research and Intervention for Organizations: process methodology” at the Faculty of Psychology at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore – Milan, Italy. Since 2011 he is also the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology.
    At the same university, he has been the coordinator of the Doctoral School of Psychology (2008-2013) and the scientific director of the II level Executive Master Program in “Qualitative research applied to marketing and society” (2006-2013).
    He is the author of around two hundred scientific publications, mainly in the area of applied psycho-social research (main research interests: consumer psychology, marketing research, social communication, medical practice, health, patient engagement, active and healthy ageing, professionalization of psychology).
    From 1975 to 2010 he has worked with Eurisko (then GfK Eurisko), institute of social and market research, being in charge as vice-president (1998-2010) and as director of the departments of “Health” (1985-2005) and “Politics and Society” (2005-2010).
    In the recent years he performed the following charges:

    • Director of the Study and Training Centre of ASSIRM (association of market research, opinion survey and social research institutes) (from 2006 to 2011);
    • Member of the Higher Council of Ministry of Heritage and Cultural Activities (MIBAC) (from 2013 to 2014);
